Policy Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for the implementation of an Electrical
Work Program for the Department of Health and Human Services. This program has
been implemented to prevent injury or death in the event of an arc flash/blast incident.
This program aims to ensure employees who are working with or near electrical circuits
do so in a safe and controlled environment and to ensure the safety of others who may be
in the area including patients, residents, clients, contractors, or visitors.
